Caring Network Teddy Bear Picnic Was Held At Milham Park In June
Caring Network clients, volunteers, staff members and children gathered for this annual event, which featured hotdogs on the grill, face painting, live music, toys, books and teddy bears for each child. Special thanks to Sharon Rafferty of the Crooked Lake Market, who has donated food and toys to the picnic for many years. Shown at right is Dulce, the baby daughter of Rosalinda, a Caring Network program participant.
Josie is another Caring Network client who attended the picnic with her family. Josie was the winner of the big red wagon, but to her, that was only one of the many things she was thankful for. "I don't know what I would have done without all the wonderful people at Caring Network," she says. "They are angels to me and my family." Josie is the mother of Manny, a special needs child, and she is pregnant with another baby. She lives in a small house with her extended family and is very appreciative of the emotional support and material help she has received from our program. She was recently the recipient of a new bed and microwave, donated by Country Meadows Apartments, and a new stove, donated by an anonymous Caring Network volunteer. "I feel so blessed," says Josie. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
