Thanks to everyone who attended the 2013 Celebrate Life Luncheon! We are so grateful for your support and your assistance in honoring our Celebrate Life Award Winners. Please enjoy these photos from the event and let us know if you have any comments or suggestions for the next Celebrate Life Luncheon. We hope to see you there!
Robin L. Pierucci, M.D. was both the keynote speaker and the recipient of the John W. Kavanaugh, M.D. Physician Award. Her speach was entitled "Caring for God's Children" and inspired those in attendance to answer God's calling in their own lives. She is shown here with Fran Denny, CCDOK Executive Director and Bishop Paul J. Bradley.
Mary Waurio was the recipient of th Katherine Van Domelen Caring Network Volunteer Award for her years of service. Jeannine Boehm, CCDOK Volunteer Coordinator (shown here, right), reflected on Mother Teresa's call to treat each person you are with as if they are the only person in the world -- to really be present for them. Mary embodies that call in each and every action she takes with Caring Network clients and staff alike.
Father Marotti honored Gerald and Roselyn Casey, recipients of the Sister Edna Ternes Lifetime Achievement Award. He shared stories of his lifelong relationship with the Caseys and how they have personally impacted both him and the greater community for the pro-life cause. The Caseys had prior commitments and Father Marotti also accepted the award on their behalf.
The Western Michigan University Students for Life group received the Blessed Mother Teresa Outstanding Group Award for their amazing -- and counter-cultural -- services both on and off the Western Michigan University Campus. These dedicated young men and women have given countless hours to support the sanctity of life.
